JSA Big Fencing Day

Big Fencing Day Recap

What an incredible Big Fencing Day we had at JSA Fencing Academy on the 3ed of May 2026! It was a fantastic day filled with energy, great sportsmanship, and three different competitions across multiple weapons. We would like to congratulate everyone who took part and made the event such a success.

Thank you to all athletes, coaches, families, and supporters for your participation and support throughout the day. It was a fantastic celebration of fencing across all levels and weapons, and we are incredibly proud of everyone involved.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to all clubs and club representatives who helped share and promote our event within their fencing communities and encouraged their fencers to take part. Your support and collaboration are greatly appreciated.

We hope to see everyone again at future fencing competitions and upcoming JSA events!

JSA Foil Open Championship

We began the day with our Foil Open Championships, featuring a large number of bouts and some very close and exciting handicap matches.

Female Foil Open Championship:

1st Place: Raya, 2nd Place: Isabella, 3rd Place: Jamie

Male Foil Open Championship:

1st Place: Xavier, 2nd Place: Bosco, 3rd Place: Jude

Congratulations to all winners and competitors for an excellent start to the day.

Grading Session

Following the foil competition, we held our grading session for our younger fencers. We would like to congratulate all the children who took part and successfully moved to the next stage of their fencing journey. Each fencer received a certificate and a gift in recognition of their progress. We hope they enjoyed the experience, and we thank all parents for their continued support.

Épée Competition

The afternoon continued with a busy and exciting Épée Open Competition, featuring 30 fencers and a full schedule of bouts.

Male Épée Results:

1st Place: Ash, 2nd Place: Jared, 3rd Place: Vern and Jude

Congratulations to all competitors for their effort and determination throughout the event.

Sabre Competition

We finished the day with our Sabre Open Competition — the first of its kind at JSA, marking an exciting step forward as Sabre continues to grow within our club. The event was mixed gender and delivered some fast-paced and entertaining bouts.

Foil Mixed Team Championship Finals – A Day to Remember!

What an incredible day at JSA Big Fencing Day! We were thrilled to welcome fencers, families, friends, and new visitors to experience the excitement of fencing. The Foil Mixed Team Championship Finals were intense, emotional, and full of energy, with every bout showcasing amazing skill, determination and teamwork.

JSA Official Gradings – Celebrating Progress and Achievement
Congratulations to all the young fencers who participated in our official gradings on Big Fencing Day! It was fantastic to see so many enthusiastic faces demonstrating their progress, determination and growing skills.
A big thank you to all the parents for bringing your children and making this opportunity possible – your support plays a huge role in their development and enjoyment of fencing.
With the excitement of the Foil Mixed Team Championship Finals happening alongside the gradings, our fencers had the unique opportunity to watch high-level bouts and be inspired by their peers. We hope this experience motivates them to continue improving, sharpening their technique, and building the confidence needed to take the next steps in their fencing journey.
Well done to all the kids – your hard work and dedication are truly impressive, and we look forward to seeing you continue to grow, learn, and one day compete at the same exciting level as the champions you cheered for today!

We ended JSA Big Fencing Day with our first-ever EPEE Mixed Team Championship – and what an epic competition it was!
Teams battled with skill, strategy, and plenty of flair on the piste. The energy was electric, the matches were intense, and the camaraderie was inspiring. We were thrilled to welcome talented fencers from our club and other clubs who joined the competition, making the day even more exciting!

What an incredible day it’s been at JSA Fencing Academy—a true celebration of fencing, community, and achievement!

We hosted a jam-packed schedule that included the Open Foil Championship, Grading Assessments, Open Day, and the Open Epee Championship for Veteran & Novice fencers.

The atmosphere was electric from start to finish, filled with energy, determination, and the spirit of friendly competition.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this day so special:

To all the fencers who competed—you gave it your all and inspired us with your skill and sportsmanship.
To the parents, grandparents, and families—your support means everything. Thank you for cheering from the sidelines and encouraging every step of the journey.
