JSA Big Fencing Day

3rd May 2026

We are excited to invite all our members to take part in our JSA Big Fencing Day 2026!

This is a fantastic club event where fencers of all levels come together to compete, grade, and celebrate fencing as a community. Whether you competed last year or this will be your first time, everyone is welcome to join in the action.

Event Schedule

8:30 am – JSA 6th Open Foil Championship
11:15 am – Official Grading Session
11:30 am – Open Day / Come & Try Fencing
1:15 pm – Open Épée Championship
3:00 pm – Open Sabre Championship

Please note competition timings may be subject to slight changes.

Competitions & Grading

Members are invited to compete in Foil, Épée, or Sabre.

For younger members and developing fencers, our official grading session at 11:15 am is a key part of the day. Every fencer participating in grading will receive:

Individual assessment, Certificate, Prize

Entry Fees

Early Bird Entry: $40 (until 27th April)
Standard Entry: $60 (closes 30th April)

About the Day

The Big Fencing Day is one of our favourite events of the year—bringing together all weapons, all ages, and all levels in a fun, supportive, and competitive environment.

It’s a chance to test skills, gain experience, celebrate progress, and enjoy fencing as part of a strong club community.

We can’t wait to see both returning and new members take part in what promises to be an exciting day of fencing!

Foil Mixed Team Championship Finals – A Day to Remember!

What an incredible day at JSA Big Fencing Day! We were thrilled to welcome fencers, families, friends, and new visitors to experience the excitement of fencing. The Foil Mixed Team Championship Finals were intense, emotional, and full of energy, with every bout showcasing amazing skill, determination and teamwork.

JSA Official Gradings – Celebrating Progress and Achievement
Congratulations to all the young fencers who participated in our official gradings on Big Fencing Day! It was fantastic to see so many enthusiastic faces demonstrating their progress, determination and growing skills.
A big thank you to all the parents for bringing your children and making this opportunity possible – your support plays a huge role in their development and enjoyment of fencing.
With the excitement of the Foil Mixed Team Championship Finals happening alongside the gradings, our fencers had the unique opportunity to watch high-level bouts and be inspired by their peers. We hope this experience motivates them to continue improving, sharpening their technique, and building the confidence needed to take the next steps in their fencing journey.
Well done to all the kids – your hard work and dedication are truly impressive, and we look forward to seeing you continue to grow, learn, and one day compete at the same exciting level as the champions you cheered for today!

We ended JSA Big Fencing Day with our first-ever EPEE Mixed Team Championship – and what an epic competition it was! 🤩
Teams battled with skill, strategy, and plenty of flair on the piste. The energy was electric, the matches were intense, and the camaraderie was inspiring. We were thrilled to welcome talented fencers from our club and other clubs who joined the competition, making the day even more exciting! 🎉

What an incredible day it’s been at JSA Fencing Academy—a true celebration of fencing, community, and achievement!

We hosted a jam-packed schedule that included the Open Foil Championship, Grading Assessments, Open Day, and the Open Epee Championship for Veteran & Novice fencers.

The atmosphere was electric from start to finish, filled with energy, determination, and the spirit of friendly competition.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this day so special:

To all the fencers who competed—you gave it your all and inspired us with your skill and sportsmanship.
To the parents, grandparents, and families—your support means everything. Thank you for cheering from the sidelines and encouraging every step of the journey.
To our amazing grading students—congratulations on your progress and achievements!
To the referees —your dedication and professionalism helped everything run smoothly.
And to everyone who came along to our Open Day—we loved welcoming you into our fencing family and sharing what the sport is all about!
