MINI FENCERS

Our Mini Fencers Program is specially designed for children aged 3 to 6, offering a playful and engaging introduction to the world of fencing. Through fun games and age-appropriate activities, young fencers develop coordination, balance, and focus while learning basic footwork and fencing movements using safe, plastic swords. The program also introduces key social skills such as teamwork, listening, and following instructions, all within a positive and supportive environment that encourages confidence and curiosity.
BEGINNERS
Tuesday 4pm - 5pm Saturday 9am - 10am
Our beginner fencing program is designed for young students ages 6 and older. In this exciting and engaging class, children will be introduced to the fundamentals of fencing, including basic footwork, blade skills, and the key techniques used in the sport. Students will also learn the important etiquette and sportsmanship that are essential in a fencing match, emphasising respect for both opponents and the rules of the game. This program provides a fun and supportive environment where kids can develop coordination, focus, and confidence while gaining an appreciation for the sport of fencing.
INTERMEDIATE
Tuesday 5pm - 6pm Wednesday 5pm - 6pm Saturday 10am - 11am Saturday 11-11.30am - Group lessons (Stream lessons)
Our Development Program is designed for students who have mastered the basics and are ready to take their skills to the next level. At this stage, fencers will focus on refining their blade work, improving footwork, and mastering the concept of tempo in fencing. Students will also begin competing in local tournaments, putting their skills to the test in real match settings. In this level fencers start use of additional electric fencing equipment. To maximised growth and progress, we recommend at least one private lesson per week, allowing students to receive personalised coaching and guidance tailored to their individual needs.
COMPETITIVE

Our Advanced and Competitive Program is designed for intermediate to high-level fencers who are preparing for serious competition. At this level, students will refine advanced techniques, enhance strategic thinking, and develop mental toughness needed for competitive fencing. Fencers will focus on improving their tactical awareness, speed, and reaction time, as well as learning how to analyse opponents’ strategies. With an emphasis on competitive preparation, students will participate in local, regional, and national tournaments.This program is ideal for those looking to pursue fencing at a higher level and gain the skills necessary to succeed in the competitive arena.
SABRE PROGRAM

The Sabre Program at JSA, led by former world championship-level fencer Lim Teng-Piao (Steven Lim), offers fencers the chance to experience the fastest and most dynamic of the Olympic fencing weapons. Sabre rewards agility, speed, and tactical sharpness, and under Steven’s guidance athletes develop not only technical excellence and competition readiness, but also the core values of humility, confidence, discipline, and hard work. Designed for intermediate and advanced fencers who are ready to take their skills to the next level, the program blends high-level coaching with character development to create strong, resilient athletes both on and off the piste.
ADULT BEGINNERS

It’s never too late to start fencing! JSA beginner training for adults is designed to help you learn the fundamentals of fencing in a fun and welcoming environment. Develop core skills like footwork, blade techniques, and safe equipment use at your own pace. With expert coaching, you’ll improve your physical fitness, sharpen your focus, and gain confidence as you progress. Fencing is a fantastic way to stay active, reduce stress, and meet like-minded individuals. Sessions are ongoing, so you can join at any time. We provide all the necessary equipment—just bring comfortable sportswear, a water bottle, and a positive attitude!
