JSA Fencing Academy, located in Como, Western Australia, was founded and is led by national champion, Coach Marek Jamrozy. The academy provides a nurturing environment where fencing enthusiasts of all ages can grow both as athletes and individuals.

JSA Fencing Academy’s training program is led by Marek Jamrozy, a distinguished fencing coach and Australian and Oceania champion with over 30 years of experience. Marek began fencing in 1985 and has represented Australia in numerous international competitions, including the World Championships and the 2016 Olympic Fencing Qualifiers.
Before moving to Australia in 2003, Marek achieved remarkable success in Poland, becoming the Polish U20 Champion in 1993 and earning a bronze medal in the open category. A multi-medalist at the Polish Championships, Marek demonstrated excellence and dedication throughout his competitive career.
After relocating, Marek earned coaching qualifications in both Poland and Australia. As the founder and head coach of JSA Fencing Academy in Como, he is committed to developing the next generation of fencers. His training programs emphasize discipline, respect, and perseverance, fostering both skill and character in his students. Marek’s passion, expertise, and achievements make him a highly respected figure in the fencing community.
Lim Teng-Piao, also known as Steven Lim, is the newly appointed Co-Head Coach at JSA Fencing Academy, working closely with Head Coach and Founder Marek Jamrozy. A former world championship-level fencer, Steven now dedicates his energy to mentoring ambitious athletes while nurturing qualities like humility, confidence, discipline, and hard work.
Since gaining his FIE coaching certification in 1997, Steven has made a significant impact on Australian fencing. Within five years, he was appointed national coach at the Asian Cadet and Junior Fencing Championships. Specialising in foil and sabre, he has coached top-tier fencers at World, Asian, Commonwealth, and Oceania competitions, with many securing national and state titles.
As an FIE-accredited referee, Steven officiated at elite events including World Cups, Olympic Qualifiers, and Asian Championships, while serving on the Fencing Confederation of Asia’s Refereeing Sub-Committee.
His fencing career includes being a two-time SE Asian Games gold medallist, NCAA finalist, and seven-time Malaysian national foil champion.
From mentoring coaches in Western Australia to choreographing fight scenes in theatre, Steven brings a deep and diverse skill set. Outside of fencing, he works in digital marketing and enjoys golf
Ike began fencing in 1997 and has been involved in the sport for many years as both an athlete and coach. A former university team captain and national-level competitor in the Philippines, he brings a depth of experience and a strong technical foundation to his coaching.
His teaching style is structured, clear, and focused, placing strong emphasis on the learning process—ensuring that students not only develop sound technique but also understand the underlying concepts and tactics of the sport. His sessions are designed to keep students engaged while building their confidence, discipline, and decision-making on the piste.
Beyond fencing performance, Ike is committed to developing well-rounded young athletes. He uses fencing as a platform to teach values such as hard work, resilience, respect, and focus—skills that carry over into school, relationships, and life. He has played an active role in growing the youth foil community in Western Australia and continues to mentor many of the state’s top young fencers.
Justin Aloi is a dedicated fencer and coach that has been involved with fencing since he was fourteen and has competed in various national and international competitions, proudly representing the State of WA Australia. Justin has gained fencing coaching accreditation in Australia and internationally through the AcademY d'Armes Internationale what reflects his diverse training background and expertise. In addition to his competitive career, he has contributed to the fencing community as a coach and official, sharing his knowledge and passion for the sport with others.
Solomon Lindsay is a passionate fencer and coach who has been deeply involved in the sport since he was a child. Growing up training in fencing, Solomon developed a deep understanding and love for the discipline, which he now shares with the next generation. For the past few years, he has been coaching at JSA Fencing Academy, where he also leads fencing camps that are both skill-building and fun. Known for his great rapport with kids, Solomon creates an engaging and supportive environment, inspiring young athletes to develop their abilities and passion for fencing.
